Ugbaja Grand Prix’s 2012 campaign gets back under-way in October, The team set the bar really high winning their début race last year in dominating fashion. They picked up a second place in their last race in tough circumstances. Can they win again this year?

Nico: It is time for this team to grow

Team Principal Nico Aaron Ugbaja talks about how progress has been so far for Ugbaja Grand Prix, and what plans he has for the team in the future. 

I write this post during Ugbaja Grand Prix’s mid season break, the first two races of 2012 have been a mixed bag for us. We experienced what can only be described as “The worst luck possible” in Race Three, where the team by no fault of our own had victory snapped away. What made it worse was that we were on course for AT LEAST a podium from that race, until eight laps from the end I got black flagged on my stint dropping us to fourth.

After that race which was the worst moment of my racing career so far, I felt defeated, annoyed, I also blamed myself for everything so far. As team principal it is your responsibility to run the team to the best of your ability, after finishing fourth twice I studied the telemetry from both races really hard and took a different approach for the next race.  Continue Reading →

What Goes On At Ugbaja Grand Prix …

On the 20th February 2012, Ugbaja Grand Prix celebrated it’s first birthday. So the team thought it was only right that you get to know about Ugbaja Grand Prix a bit more.

Even though the team carries the “Ugbaja” name, the team is more a family, a bunch of friends doing what they love the most …..

Which is racing, even thought the team does not own a kart at the present time, Ugbaja GP considers itself very much a Karting Team.

Who are Ugbaja Grand Prix?

Ugbaja Grand Prix Racing is a British Karting Team, Based in London, United Kingdom. The team was set up by Nico Aaron Ugbaja Praveen & Prakasan in 2011 to compete in endurance kart racing, with the intention of competing in higher levels of Motorsport in the future. On the 20th February 2011, the team competed in it’s first race at TeamSport: Crawley taking part in a TC90: Open Endurance Grand Prix. Ugbaja Grand Prix’s first victory came at that race with a dominating performance. Since then the team has moved from strength to strength, with 12 drivers currently racing for Ugbaja Grand Prix with the team competing in numerous races never finishing out of the top six.

2012 is under-way and sees the team fighting for podiums on a regular basis. Continue Reading →
